Top Music Videos of 2012

Chairlift - I Belong in Your Arms (Japanese version)
This one is definitely my #1 favorite music video of 2012. My favorite track, too. Inspired by lead singer Caroline Polachek's childhood in Japan, this video features both members performing as if they were in a lo-fi karaoke video.

DIIV - Doused
It's thrilling! It's terrifying! It's alive! It's DIIV!
That was probably the perfect classic-sci-fi-horror-inspired tagline for this video. It may only be nothing but DIIV wearing loose clothes and playing in a small gig with powerful audience, but then it's DIIV. That's what they are.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Your Love
Did you see Tommy Lee Jones?

Grizzly Bear - Yet Again
Ah. What a sweet one. It's about a ballet dancer being lost, totally all alone, discovering places and getting back home only to do Poltergeist. 4:10 is my favorite moment.

Passion Pit - Constant Conversations
Michael Angelakos wearing a suit makes me realize that he's cooler than Daniel Craig. I like it how this video concentrates on his calm appearance in a boring family party. The people just seem to be bored, thus, constant conversations. Love the tones as well. And oh, also check out their fun video for 'Take A Walk'.

Well then we'll see what they say and we'll do what they do, but that doesn't mean a goddamn thing.

PSY - Gangnam Style
Billion viewers baby. That moment when HyunA shows up in the train. Ugh. This is the kind of video that we're not getting bored of, no matter how many times we've watched it. I always find myself entertained on 2.38.
